Another long week. I was busier this week because the annual awards were due but still not that exciting. I went to lunch with my friend today and she talked me into taking a quilt class with her tomorrow. It is a turtle quilt. I will post pictures tomorrow.
I have not worked on the skirt my thumb is acting up again and I have to get another shot in it. So, no knitting for awhile, at least I can sew. I need to finish the twin quilt that I started before Christmas.
Not much else going on around here, still cold, still snowy.

Brrrr It's Cold Outside!!
It was -7 yesterday morning! We are up to 12 today. It is very, very cold. I've been inside almost all weekend. We went to the commissary this morning and it was just frigid we could see our breath inside the car almost all the way there. I think we are getting back to snow tomorrow which is good because that means it will warm up...LOL!
We just came back from seeing the King's Speech, David went with me. I thought it was really good and people were clapping at the end of it. Colin was of course wonderful. I know he has won the Golden Globe for it and he is up for the BAFTA and Oscar. I hope he wins. I saw there were several cast members from the Pride & Prejudice miniseries and it took me awhile to find Jennifer Ehls (who played Elizabeth) but she is the wife if the speech therapist that the King goes too. Also, the person who played Mr. Collins plays a person to whom the speech therapist auditions to for a play. I thought it would have been neat if they had Jennifer Ehls play the queen but Helena Bohnham Carter played it very well.
Well, I have not worked on my skirt at all. I have not done any craft at all!! I wish I could take it to work to do because work is so boring but I don't think they would like it too much. Right now I watch movies on the little DVD player David got me for my birthday. It is easier to get what little work done I have and to look like I am working while I watch movies than it would be if I were knitting something. Melissa signed me up for another quilt class. It is a Star quilt class and starts on 10 Feb. I haven't even finished my last quilt! I will just make the small quilt this time so I will be sure to finish it in the two classes.
Well, I have got to go do my Sunday chores now, I do really need a maid to keep things cleaned up around here, I spent most of the day yesterday cleaning up the dinning room!
Talk to you later!

Happy Birthday to Me!!
I've had a great birthday weekend so far! David and I went to the RV show yesterday there were lots of fifth wheels to look at but we only found one that we halfway liked. The living rooms were really laid out poorly and we have to have a king size bed. Well, we have a few years to figure out what we really want but it was fun to go window shopping.
Today we went to the movies. I was going to see the King's Speech but David wanted to see the Green Hornet which I also wanted to see so I went to see that with him and it was pretty good. I was going to go see the King's Speech tomorrow while David works but I am not sure the movie times are going to line up with my spa appointment. Might have to go next weekend. We all went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. I saved up all day so I could eat my steak and it was delicious! David just went and got an ice cream cake that we will eat later. I am snuggled down in front of the fire now getting ready to watch the second half of the Patriots/Jets game.
I am looking forward to my manicure, pedicure and facial tomorrow it has been a long time since I have had them done. When I am done I am going to the Dorothy Lane Market which is a fancy gourmet food store that has a fabulous health food section. Have to get back to the diet tomorrow. It is going really well, I've lost 10 pounds since after Christmas and about 3 pounds since doing the vegan thing. My clothes are getting loser so that is the best thing!
I am going to work on my skirt now. I'll post more tomorrow.

Happy Friday!!!
I didn't think today would ever end! Work is sooooo boring this week.
I decided to break out the new popcorn popper (that I got for Christmas) and make a batch. It turned out pretty good except I couldn't put any butter on it but still good.
I am so excited that I get a 3 day weekend for my birthday again! Tomorrow I am going to drag David to the RV show at the airport, got to start scoping out that 5th wheel for our retirement travel. Then going to watch the playoffs in the afternoon. Sunday going to go see Colin Firth in the King's Speech. Probably go to Longhorn and break my diet with a 6oz filet then watch some more football. On Monday, I am going to have a facial, manicure, and a pedicure at the day spa. I think it should be a pretty good time.
All right time to read!

Hello from snowy Ohio!
I am really sorry about not posting. I started a new diet before the New Year and it has taken up a lot of my time. I am doing a 28 day program with no animal products. I also gave up Diet Coke. So, I spend a lot of time planning meals and researching recipes and reading about nutrition. I am finally at a point (day 11) where I am feeling comfortable with it all.
Today we had quite a bit of snow in the morning and we were released early. I left because I don't like driving in the stuff at all! I still have flashbacks from my accident and hate feeling the car lose traction. The storm didn't turn out too bad and I could have stayed but I wanted to feel safe. Puppy, Marley and I took a nice nap and got up and had a snack.
Last weekend David and I went to IKEA to get a new TV/wall unit combo. I have been wanting one for awhile now so this is my birthday present. Once I got up from my nap I started putting the Christmas stuff away and moving things from the fireplace to the wall unit. It is going to take me awhile to get things the way I want it and I stopped when David came home because it isn't something you can do when people are around. I always find I can clean and get things done when there is no one around. I will work on it more this week and into the weekend.
I am not sure what we are going to do for my birthday since we already did IHOP/IKEA/ and Jungle Jim's last weekend. Maybe a movie and dinner, I am really thinking about breaking my diet for one day to have a little bit of steak but I don't know, we will see...maybe some chicken or salmon instead of steak.
Here is a picture of the skirt I am working on (well haven't worked on it since I told you about it previously) Now that I am more settled with the diet I will work on it more.
Well, that is about all the news for now, just trying to get through the winter in one piece! LOL
Bye for now,
Nanci

Happy New Year's Eve!!
Okay, I am sorry I have been a bad blogger lately. It has been a weird time around here. Anyway, we had a good Christmas and great time off from work, I really didn't want to go back to work and last week was a torture because there was absolutely nothing going on. We were both off today but then David got called in to do a fire job so that was okay, he got to sleep in. I finished reading my Engine 2 Diet book and went and got some supplies to get going on that. I have been obsessed with going on a diet and eliminating Diet Coke for the last week or so. Today was the first day without Diet Coke and since I have been cutting down slowly for the past two weeks it went pretty good. I had some black tea to get a little caffeine since I don't want that awful caffeine headache. Mostly I drink water though and I am already feeling better because of that....so, that is what I have been up to lately.
I went to Michael's today and got some wool to make me a skirt I saw in the Interweave magazine. I was going to get a dark cherry color but all of the ones I liked did not have enough skeins left since everyone is having a sale on wool right now but I ended up with a real pretty dark green which is similar to the color they used in the pattern but the pattern used wool that is $10 a skein and I paid less than $2.50 for mine!! I will post up a picture when I get more of it knitted, right now I have about 2 inches of the waistband done.
We have had a heat wave the last couple days and all the snow is melted. People were running around like crazy today, out walking and golfing, too bad it isn't spring! Not sure when we are going to get lurched back into reality but it is really nice to have some pure sunshine for a change.
Tomorrow I will post some pictures! Have a Happy New Year's Eve!!!

Finally on Holiday Break
I am finally on break for 3 days!! I worked a half day today and then went to CVS to pick up a few last minute things. Went to JoAnn's and got some knitting needles. I am going to knit a hat for my friend at work, his birthday is next week and the little hat he wears doesn't cover his ears. I made a trial hat in the round last week so I think I have the technique down now.
I have all of our presents wrapped and just need David to bring my sewing table down so we can put all the gifts on it since we don't have the big tree this year there is no tree to put gifts under.
I am going to make a turkey tomorrow for dinner and then on Saturday we will have ham. I am looking forward to the leftover turkey so I can make turkey enchiladas, it is one of our favorite dishes.
I will take some pictures to post later. Time to knit!
